Nathan’s Oncologist called Malia today and told her she had spoken with the surgeon about Nathan. We are supposed to head to KU Med on Tuesday for lab work, and to talk with the doctor there, and then his surgery will be the following day. She said we should hear from KU Med prior to Tuesday for more details.

So, this is what we have been waiting for ever since he was diagnosed back in March. As much of a relief as it is, it’s also super scary. Nathan will be having major surgery, they will be taking a portion of his liver out of his body. We don’t yet know how long the surgery will be, how long he will need to be in the hospital, or anything.
